Ooh how I love scented markers.....
I was incredibly overjoyed to have been selected to try the Mr Sketch scented markers. My mind was flooded with nostalgia. All good things. How I loved to color with scented markers. Especially the grape. Everyone remembers the grape scent.
I have a four year old who is an incredible artist. She draws the most lovely pictures of people with super round bodies and cute little stick legs. It's cute as can be. Getting this mission was my way to live vicariously through her and enjoy, once again, my favorite grape scented marker.
The package could not have arrived at a better time. Friday evening. I have to cook dinner and figure out a way to keep both my two and four year old from climbing all over me. I mean, who do these kids think I am? A human jungle gym? Yeah, pretty much. Someday, I might actually fully admit this and just give in to my little critters whom love to tug at my pants or shirt asking to be held or played with while I'm knuckles deep in the most amazing meat loaf ever.
Back to the markers.
The markers came just as remembered. A clear box showing off all its bright, bold colorful contents. showcasing two scents right on the front. Watermelon and GRAPE..... Oh yes. The grape. Holding the box to my nose. I closed my eyes inhaling deeply. Taking the scent that permeated through the plastic. I was an excited ten year old little girl again. Remembering the first time I laid my hands on these babies.
I was snapped out of my moment by my four year old screaming "Your silly mommy. Let me smell!!!"
That's when I noticed the package was slightly damaged and the black licorice marker was a bit cracked. Nothing a little invisible tape couldn't fix. Tada! Super Mom to the rescue!!!! Worked great. I went through the rest of the colors to make sure any more weren't damaged and saw that all of the same scents were still the same except one. What once was a bright green with lime scent is now teal and scented like fruit punch. I missed lime. Yellow is now banana though I hear it still might be lemon according to good ol wikipedia.
By this time my daughter was telling me "Let me see! Let me see!" I took my favorite grape marker out and handed her the entire package. with a twist of the cap. that oh so amazing creek of the cap. Just like I remember.
My daughter had to take off all of the caps then. it was a fun sound! With the first cap off is when she noticed they were scented. Then of course all of the caps had to come off to smell them all. She liked "pink flavor" the best, lol pink flavor. What a stinker.
I asked her to draw me something pretty with her markers. She chose to make a pretty pink "giant heart"and a replica of her garden in our front yard. Her garden currently has tomatoes, sunflowers and strawberries. She made sure to add the sun so her pretty flowers can grow. I loved the fat markers, makes an easy grip for little hands. The colors are bold which really excited my daughter. Seldom ever do you find a yellow marker that isn't dull. you can see in the picture I have included below that her sunflower is so bright, it can be seen well. We've had so much fun with these markers the past few weeks and have definitely encourage the use of them in our daily coloring routine.
Love, love, love Mr Sketch markers and thank #Crowdtap for the wonderful opportunity to check this product out.
