Ozobot park picnic and Giveaway!!!

I was selected by Tryazon, LLC to test out an host a party for a super cute little gadget called the Ozobot. Tryazon is a super neat vessel to test out out new/upcoming products. They share the products with you to test and share with your friends, families and fellow parents!

Ozobot is a small robot (ass seen in the video below) that teaches children (even us big ones) the basics of coding. The coding process is simple draw lines or patterns of different shapes and colors to get the Ozobot to respond.  Ozobot is pre-programmed to recognize colors in different sequences to move back, forth, zig-zag, make a u-turn etc. You can draw your own "maps" or "tracks" for Ozobot to move along.

Once I was accepted to try out Ozobot, I took to my Facebook group to organize an event. My group is called Arizona Mom's and Dad's Support, Chat & Meet.  We are a group of  about 700 parents in the state of Arizona. We love to get together and do different activities and try out new products.  You can find us by Clicking here if you are an AZ parent and interested in joining our little group.

Once the event was established. It was time to play with this little guy to familiarize myself with its options. The Ozobot follows a "track" You basically draw a path with a black marker, set the Ozobot down and it will follow this path. Color patterns can be draw n in the path, these patterns will tell the Ozobot which direction to travel.  The Ozobot has color recognition. Each color the Ozobot rolls over, the lights on the robot will change to reflect that same color.
The Ozobot also has an app to download the color charts and bring the Ozobt to life. With customization for colors, light patterns, a method of steering games.
You can see more by visiting Ozobots webpage.

I featured a cute little unboxing video on Parenting group so they can get a good idea of what we were going to sample/Give away! Click Here for Video

My children and I had a blast playing with this little fella. My girls are ages 3 & 5.  I didn't expect my 3 year old to fully understand how to do this but, she got the idea right away that you can draw a path for the robot to follow. She had fun trying to see if she could draw faster then "he" could follow.

My 5 year old had a blast with the track that is included. She immediately picked up that the little colored dots make the robot move. She also loved the fact that the robot "talked" to her and made noises. It prompted her to name the little guy "Swift" because "he goes really fast!"

We also uploaded the APP. In the app we were able to change the light colors and manually steer the Ozobot. there are also games along with a couple new features that are soon to come! This was a blast and even though the box suggests 6 years and up. My 3 year old had fun with it too. I think as long as anyone can draw a line, they can join the fun.

On to the party!
Spring time means get out doors and have some fun. I didn't want to be cooped up inside to test/promote Ozobot. So, I decided to have a picnic in the park. Everyone likes the park and for those that may not be into the device, there would be something for everyone. Quite a few parents joined us with children from age 3 to 13.

I brought raffle tickets to give two bots away,  a few premade tracks for the kiddos to race the Ozobots, some extra sheets of paper to teach and encourage creativity. The kids loved making different track patterns and teach beginners coding.

We also paired two of the bots on a couple of tablets to allow the kids to race. That wasn't all successful without stable data connection. I think the app is better suited for teens/adults. the kids 10 and under didn't quite get the app as much as I thought they would. Younger kiddos loved the idea that the bots came with "clothes". Granted it was hard to tell them apart after a while because each unit was the same.

The kids had a blast. They were all over the place and it was difficult to remember to snap a few pictures of them playing. but here's what I've got!

Winner#1
Winner #2!

Thanks  to Tryazon and Ozobot for allowing this to happen!

I forgot to schedule a play date for a product review!!!!

So.... I made the biggest boo-boo. I had completed an application through  Moms Meet  to try out  Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal Cups  and was accepted to try them out. I had sent my acceptance email for the mission to get some mommies together and then lost touch with my email...more like lost touch with reality.  I walked up to my porch after a hard days work and see this random box sitting on my door step.  I didn't order anything, I thought to myself.  I kind of kicked the box a bit and found that it was slightly heavy. I left it there. Figured my husband or mother in law may have ordered something and would drag it in. A week goes by and the package is still there.  Finally I asked my husband to bring the box inside and see who it was for. I couldn't check the side of the box apparently....ding dong moment! Come to find out the box IS for me. I opened it to find a whole slew of packing peanuts!  My kid...
